The communication surrounding a grant application is sometimes just as important as the application itself. With GrantMaker, evaluators’ comments and email feedback to the applicant are documented and made part of the application’s file. As evaluators review applications they can attach comments to the application for all evaluators to see. You can decide to make comments visible to all evaluators or you may only display the evaluator’s own comments.   If you choose to display all evaluator’s comments this provides a message board-like quality so evaluators may share their thoughts and opinions to encourage and document a dialogue for evaluation.  Each comment is recorded with the evaluator’s name and the date and time the information was entered. These comments are made a permanent part of the record even after the application has been approved or declined. GrantMaker includes a web-based email utility to send feedback to applicants. An administrator can open the application’s file and generate an email from within the system. The entire content of the email is automatically attached to the record.
