The process of deciding which grant applications should be approved or declined is greatly simplified when there are uniform and quantifiable metrics applied as a basis for evaluation. Once the approval process is complete a GrantMaker administrator can update the application record with the approval status and if approved, convert to an awarded grant.  You may also configure post award tracking fields for foundation deliverables (e.g., payments) and grantee compliance requirements.  For example, the foundation may have a series of dates by which payments of a certain amount should be made.  Within our system you may completely customize the required dates and amounts and the actual dates and amounts.  You may also run reports to show all awarded grants where the obligations were met and other reports to show awarded grants that require action.  You may even publish online forms for your accounting department to submit payment details and dates for each grantee.  The submission of this form would attach the accounting detail directly in the awarded grant’s record.  You may also track the requirements a grantee must fulfill to comply with the grant award.  Many grants require the grantee to provide periodic reporting and metrics to gauge the successful use of the award.  This may constitute filling out data fields or posting electronic report files by a certain due date.  While an administrator can always update these fields and files manually, you may also publish customized online intake forms for grantees to make updates electronically, which will be automatically attached to the awarded grant.  Administrators may also run reports to determine the status of post-award requirements for their grantees.
